Turn over a new leaf with an updated pre med plan.

If you are applying to med school in 2012:

1.  Meet with Jo to Plan

Meeting agenda:

      • GPA, BCPM GPA, Leadership, Research, Community Service, Shadowing, Volunteering in Medicine, and Other Pre-Med Experiences
      •  You'll also discuss MCAT planning
      • AMCAS, Personal Statement
      • Create your short list of med schools and
      • Review your goals for graduation

2.  Look at Princeton Review for MCAT Prep Dates

Email Jo information on which MCAT prep course you intend to take. You will receive a confirmation from Princeton (preferred because it is cheaper for Future Docs program) or Kaplan regarding your selected course. A minimum 3.4 GPA is required for MN Future Docs to cover that cost.

The Princeton Review will offer their students a free verbal reasoning online booster program. DO IT!

If you are a non native English speaker, ask Jo about the verbal reasoning course that is happening on Sunday afternoons.

3.  Plan to attend AMCAS Writing Events

Mark down these dates in your calendar for AMCAS Writing Events:

January 3, 4, 5, 6 (Tuesday through Friday), 2012
March 16, 17, 18, 2012

4.  Work with Our E-Editor to Complete AMCAS Early

You should work with our e-editor Adam on your AMCAS. Please have your AMCAS completed by March 1, 2012.

You should meet with Jo to discuss your personal statement if you are having difficulty with the theme. Get started early!
