This is draft information. Ruth will provide current, correct information in April and May 2008.
The recommended stipend is currently $1,600 as pay. You will be an employee of the Mayo Clinic for those 4 weeks.
You will likely receive a check on day 1 of the program for $800 minus taxes and on the last day of the program for $800 minus taxes.
Food
The current thought is having a $500 food stipend, which will appear on a paycheck on the first day of the program. This card may be used at hospital cafeterias, nearby grocery stores (there isn't a drop off service), or use at local restaurants.
$400 is for food.
$100 is for transporation, parking.
Housing
You will be staying within The Kahler Grand Hotel in their student housing.
You lucky gators!
---
The Kahler is fantastic. You are connected, underground by tunnel, and directly across the street from the Mayo Clinic. You are five minutes from everything at Mayo.
These are studio suites, much like a hotel room, but they have a small fridge in each room.
Your floor will have a student lounge area.
The lounge has a kitchen attached. You have a full service kitchen, with cooking utensils, an oven, microwave, sitting and dining areas, and a refrigerator. You will be required to keep the kitchen clean.
There is computer access in the student lounge, with high speed internet access. No computers are available at the site. Please bring your own or share.
On site laundry located on your floor.
Parking is $7.75 per day, but Ruth is looking into alternative parking. Please don't bring your cars. Only 4 of you will be able to park. The rest will have to pay for parking. So, plan ahead and ride share.
Access to the recreation area, pool, whirlpool, sauna, arcade, and workout facilities.
Maid service weekly.
