Welcome to the student-run, unofficial site of Minnesota's Future Doctors. Our goal is to help you understand the three year program and become a part of our circle of friends.
The goal of the Minnesota's Future Doctors program is to develop the pre-med skills of underrepresented minority and rural college undergrads in Minnesota.
Minnesota’s Future Doctors gain opportunities to:
• Explore the lives of doctors and medical students
• Understand medical school
• See the clinic experience from professionals' point of view
• Learn about college enrichment classes
• Be exposed to service projects and volunteering
• Meet new, smart friends
• Encounter brilliant mentors
• Learn to use medical school electronic portfolios• Volunteer in premier health care facilities

Here are the groups of Minnesota's Future Doctors:
Alligators
- The Summer Program for Current College Juniors (Juniors in 08-09)
- We will be together in the summers of 2007, 2008, and 2009. Our goal is to apply to medical school in 2009 and start med school in the fall of 2010.
- This group has already been selected in February 2007.
- We are the Alligators.
Bandicoots
- The Academic Year Program for Current College Juniors (Juniors in 08-09)
- This group has already been selected. We applied in February 2007.
- We met in the fall of 2007, in January of 2008, and we will meet again in March 2008. We will have three meetings during the 2008-2009 school year. And one meeting in the fall of 2009.
- If we keep up with our "Roadmap to Med School" and attend all programs, we will be invited to attend a free MCAT training program in May and June 2009.
- We are the Bandicoots.
Coyotes
- The Summer Program for Current College Sophomores. (Sophmores in 08-09)
- We will be together in the summers of 2008, 2009, and 2010. Our goal is to apply to medical school in 2010 and start med school in the fall of 2011.
- This group was selected in March 2008.
- We are the Coyotes.
Dingoes
- The Academic Year Program for Current College Sophomores (Sophomores in 08-09)
- This group was selected in March 2008.
- We met in the fall of 2008, in January of 2009, and we will meet again in March 2009. We will have three meetings during the 2009-2010 school year. And one meeting in the fall of 2010.
- If we keep up with our "Roadmap to Med School" and attend all programs, we will be invited to attend a free MCAT training program in May and June 2010.
- We are the Dingoes.
Elk (Applications and information will be available in September 2008)
- Individuals who are college freshmen (or sophomores with three years left) in the 2008-2009 academic year will have the opportunity to apply for a three summer program.
- The Elk Cohort will be together in the summers of 2009, 2010, and 2011.
- The goal of the Elk Cohort is to apply to medical school in 2011 and start med school in the fall of 2012.
- Information about applying to this program will be available in September 2009. Applications are due February 10, 2009. This group will be selected in March 2009.
Frogs (Applications and information will be availabe in September 2008)
- Individuals who are college freshmen (or sophomores with three years left) in the 2008-2009 academic year will have the opportunity to apply for a three academic year program.
- This group will be selected in March 2009.
- The Frog Cohort will meet in the fall of 2009, in January of 2010, and we will meet again in March 2010. We will have three meetings during the 2010-2011 school year. And one meeting in the fall of 2011.

- The Frog cohort will apply to medical school in the summer of 2011, with the goal of starting medical school in the fall of 2012.
